Pass/Fail Test Scenarios Within Case Complete

We have integrated CaseComplete with TFS to enhance the version control. Since test scenarios can be added within the tool, it would be nice to "pass" or "fail" each req or UC step within the tool, then run reports off of that. This would eliminate having to complete it within Excel or Word (depending on the report you run). This would probably tie into the request above to add your own test scenarios.

@Divyasri - You can generate test case documents in Word or Excel, but even better is to upload to Azure DevOps (formerly called TFS). That way you can track pass/fail status, perform multiple test runs, etc.

This video shows uploading test cases to DevOps, including how to attach a diagram (e.g. a wireframe or other image) to a specific test step. It's a little dated, so some of the names have changed, but the functionality is the same:
https://casecomplete.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/202235768-Azure-DevOps-Test-Case-Upload-Video-

This article describes uploading to DevOps in general:
https://casecomplete.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4412151539341-Azure-DevOps-Upload

CaseComplete comes with built-in test case reports, but if you want to show diagrams associated with test steps, you can create a custom report (see sample report attached here):
https://casecomplete.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/200684757-Displaying-referenced-diagrams-underneath-steps

Finally, the test scenario feature is described in detail starting on page 49 of the tutorial (access via File / Help in CaseComplete.

Take a look and let me know if you have any questions.

Let me make sure I understand what you're talking about, Gavin. Are you saying you'd like to push test scenarioes into TFS and then record the results and do the reporting out of TFS?

No, i was thinking more of a "pass/fail" button within case complete. When you select "Show testing procedure" you would get a fourth column next to Expected Results called Pass/Fail, or something to that affect. This way all of the testing procedures and results are contained within the project itself.

Interesting. If we did that, we'd probably want to be able to record multiple test runs, right? (e.g. more than one set of pass/fail's for each use case.) Agree?

We are evaluating CaseoOmplete and would like to integrate as much as possible with TFS, at what level and how did you accomplish the TFS integration?

I would like to second the initial request - add the ability to track test step pass/fail right in CaseComplete.  It seems like the test script reports that CC generates simply add one additional column, so why not have the option to populate that column right in CC - for the majority of projects that would be sufficient.  I agree, Matt, that ideal would be to be able to record individual test runs for the same test case/script, so perhaps that's what prevents this from otherwise being an easy add - think it's possible to phase this in and just add the static extra column as an initial release?

Many thanks!

Team, We are evaluating CaseComplete for our organization as well and very interested in this feature. Can you able to confirm if this possible with recent version of CaseComplete?

Thanks @Doug for your response. It helps. Can you also share, if we have any way to attach some screenshots and images created outside of CaseComplete to Test Scenarios?

Hi Divyasri, yes, to attach a screenshot or image created outside of CaseComplete, first create a diagram within CaseComplete. The diagram can be owned by the use case or the test case, or even a package - whatever makes most sense in your scenario. Then you can copy/paste the image if it's on the clipboard into the diagram, or choose the insert picture option on the diagram ribbon if it's in a file. Once it's in a diagram, you can use the instructions above to associate the diagram with a particular test step or expected result. You can also add images to the related documents section of the test case if you don't need it associated with a particular step. Hope this helps.
