Save Locations

Is there a way to have a default save location?  I know Case Complete wants to save a Local copy, but is there a way to change where the local copy is automatically stored?  Instead of using something like C:\Users\Documents\CaseComplete\, could it automatically go to a network drive.  Say something like \"server name \ProjectManagement\Projects\ and still be a local copy?

Absolutely! As stated in the quick start guide ( http://casecomplete.zendesk.com/entries/20462296), you're free to put the working folder in your own private workspace, whether that be on a local drive of your computer or in some remote location. Keep in mind, though, that if you're using a remote location for your working folder you cannot include a hidden share as part of a UNC path. You'll also always need to have access to that remote location in order to work on your project.

In short, your working copy really doesn't have to be stored locally - that's just what we recommend, and that's what CaseComplete defaults to. You can browse to or manually enter your own location (like \server name\ProjectManagement\Projects\MyProject) to keep your working folder, well, almost anywhere.

If you need help setting up (or moving) where your working copy is located, shoot us an email at support@serlio.com and we'd be glad to help.

Well, I knew that piece, I was hoping there was a way though to have the system show a different default as opposed to individuals have to change it each time.  Meaning that when a new project was created, they would only have to click OK, as opposed to changing directories.  Just trying to shorten some of the steps in set-up.

Also, like defaulting where the dictionary is defaulting to.  We have a shared dictionary that goes with each project, but someone stills has to pick it.  If they forget, then either they start a new one or just do not have one.  Again, nothing big but would be nice to alter the defaults for all new projects regardless of the user.

Thanks for the help.

Ah, I understand now. As it turns out, those default locations are hard-coded and can't be changed at this time. I understand how that could be a pretty helpful feature, however, and I'll put it on our internal list of feature requests to see if we can implement that.

Thanks for the suggestion!
