Reports with OpenOffice

Can reports be generated through the UI and opened with OpenOffice?

Hi Brian,

CaseComplete communicates with Word to generate reports, so it must be installed.  Let me know if you have other questions, or if I misunderstood and didn't fully answer this one.

Hi Doug,

Is there a way to wire up CC to talk directly to OpenOffice Writer instead of Word...maybe a configurable property that we can set?

Sorry, no.  Behind the scenes, CaseComplete uses OLE Automation to directly access Word's APIs so there's really no way to get around having Word installed.  Have you looked at HTML reports?  Not quite as nice looking and not as easy to configure, but that might be an option.  Another possibility, have you looked at http://requirements.cc? Currently in beta, this allows you to upload your project and share your items with others to gather their comments.  Let me know if you have questions on either of these work arounds.
