File Shows Checked Out by Me in Another Location
I am using a shared project setup by someone else. I can access the project, but when I try to check it out, I get the following message:
Unable to Check out (Project Name).ucp Error Reported from System: Can't move C"\users\jroby\Documents\Case Complete\Grand and Aid Phase 1\/svn\tmp\entries to C:]Users\jroby\Documents\Case Complete\Grant and Aid Phase 1.svn\entries: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.
In addition, I get this same message on two of the 12 packages in the project. The project was recently created. In the project browser, the main project and three of the packages show as checked out. When I run my cursor over them, two of them say they're checked out by me in another location and one shows checked out by a co workers.
In trying to check out the other individual packages, I get the following message on one of them when I try to check it back in:
Commit failed (details follow)
Error(s) reported from system:
Can't move C:\Users\jroby\Documents\CaseComplete]\Grant and Aid Phase s1.svn\tmp\entries to
C:\Users\jroby\Documents\CaseComplete\Grand and Aid Phase 1.svn\entries: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.
I've tried closing completely out of Case Complete, I've tried deleting the project file from my local drive and starting all over, joining the shared project with the same results.
How can I check in what I've evidently checked out in another location? How do I resolve the commit errors so that I can check out the individual packages and check them back in? Any ideas?
Thanks,
John

Windows 7 Professional with MS Office 2007.
The co worker who created the project has the same OS.
Ok, this is a bit of a longshot but there are some symptoms you've described here that line up with a problem that we worked with Microsoft to resolve. I'll not try to summarize the whole problem, but the upshot is that it resulted in the "corrupt or unreadable" with Subversion running on Windows 7. Microsoft has a hotfix here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982927/en-us
You may want to give this a shot. If it doesn't work I'll order a 'huskers blackshirt jersey and wear it to the office.
I'll keep trying but so far today, no success.
You can get a Husker Blackshirt Jersey here:

I'll keep trying and keep you posted.
Yeah, I'm seeing the same thing from this end. I'll check to see if that hotfix is available elsewhere. Definitely keep trying though, and if you get no improvements you might want to follow the link to contact them.
I'll hold off on ordering that shirt until we know for certain this doesn't fix it :D
Okay, I finally got the hotfix sent to me. I installed the x64 version (wasn't sure about the iax64 version). I deleted the local copy of the project from my local drive and rejoined the the shared project. Same result-I still see three packages that show checked out to me in another location.
Suggestions?
Ok, John.
Are you still getting the corrupt/unreadable error? If that's cleared up, try holding down the shift key when you right-mouse click that checked out package. You should see an option to break the lock. Choose that option. That should fix the "checked out to another location" problem.
If that doesn't clear things up we'll probably need to schedule a web meeting with some of the big guns here.
I've got my shirt on order.
Yepper...holding down the shift key works like a charm. Perfect! Thanks for your help.
No need to call out the big guns, but I look forward to seeing a profile avatar picture of you with your black shirt jersey on!
Thanks again for your help. GO BIG RED!
Excellent - just to confirm: the hotfix from Microsoft DID clear up the "corrupt or unreadable" problem?
Yes. I can check out and check in the main project as well as all the packages beneath it and I no longer get the 'corrupt or unreadable' message on any of them.
Thank you! The right-click to break the lock was greatly needed and the finding the information quickly was greatly appreciated!
