Ability to turn off 'Check for Updates' feature

Working in a team environment, we have multiple copies (and licenses of course) of CC installed. Ideally, we don't want users to be able to install any updates at their own discretion, instead we would take a more controlled approach.

Therefore my idea is as follows:

When CC setup is run, there would be an option to choose 'switch off updates' feature. (In my work environment, users don't install the software themself, instead a desktop team does this and they would be directed to choose this option)

If this option was chosen, after CC was installed the following would be true:

  1. The 'Check for Updates' button within the 'Tools' menu would be greyed-out (unselectable)

  2. Under 'File => Options => General' in section "Check for Updates", the option "Don't check and don't ask me" would be selected and all three options would be greyed-out (unselectable).

In terms of how this could be technically implemented I was thinking that it might be achieved easily just by the creation of a file in the CC installation directory if the option 'switch off updates' was chosen during installation. The the CC app when run would recognize the existence of the file and points 1 and 2 above would occur.  Removal of the file, would re-enable points 1 and 2.   A technically-savy user could work their way around this but this would be good enough to manage most.
