Vision Document does not share

I've created a shared project that includes a Vision document. However, the Vision document in the shared repository is different when opened on another machine, and it won't update to match the current copy on my local machine. I am using the built-in sharing that comes with Case Complete.

Any tips or tricks I can try, or do I need to recreate the shared repository?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Steve,

In order to change and update related documents in CaseComplete, it's a manual process. The software doesn't monitor for changes in documents that weren't created by CaseComplete.

Open your project and find the reference to your related document. You should see a lock icon next to it, indicating it's checked in with the version control system. (If it's not, send an email to support@serlio.com and we'll help you get it set up that way.)

Right-click on your Vision document (in CaseComplete) and select Check Out from the context menu.

At this point, open your external program and make a trivial change to the document in order for the version control system to recognize a change that needs to be committed, and save your file.

You can now check the document back in by right-clicking on the document and selecting Check In, or click Home / Check In on the ribbon bar. Notice that when your changes are committed, the file shows up in the list of pending check-ins.

Have anyone else using the project select Home / Get Latest on the ribbon bar to receive the latest version of all CaseComplete and related document files.

The Vision document does not appear in the Project Browser, unlike the Context Diagram. I cannot find any way to import it or otherwise add it to the browser. I created it from CaseComplete on the Process tab by clicking Create vision document.

My apologies, Steve. I thought that this was a file created with Visio and added manually, and you therefore already knew where the reference was.

The automatically created vision document gets added as a related document to the top-level package in your project.

To locate the document, double click on the top-level package in the Project Browser. Your vision document - titled in the manner "MyProject_vision.doc" will be listed in the Related Documents section of the details window that opens up.

You'll need to follow the same steps I outlined above to make changes to the document (check out, edit, check in).
