This new format offers a number of ways and features for sharing your projects in the cloud, including:

Share your content with reviewers who don't have an account

Reviewers can offer feedback on your content

A history of revisions for each item is stored for you

Jason, were are we on this beta? My project has a need to share with external resources that do not have access to our file servers. We can grant them access to a shared SharePoint site, but mapping the SharePoint URL to a network drive is not straight forward enough based on my experience. Thus, we would be interested in using a cloud solution if it is ready for primetime.

We're targeting Q1 2012 to move out of beta, although I expect that transition to be mostly invisible to our customers. I would encourage (in fact, I'd plead) you to give it a try today so you can give us feedback on what works and what doesn't for your sharing scenarios. The more we can learn about your needs, the sooner we can start addressing them.

We already have over 100 customers using requirements.cc and we're pretty excited about it. We're adding a small number of features and adding a lot of polish/smoothness as we move out of beta.

Ok. I am checking into it now. I have just upgraded to CC 2012. Can I still use the Cloud version?

You bet you can, Philip! The process is the same for the 2012 version as it is for 2011.

So I have published my project to the cloud. Very straight forward, but I am unsure how the sharing feature works. I didn't find any documentation on the CC site. My question is how do others update the project? Does the project get downloaded to your machine and then they make change on their local copy, then once they are done, they publish to Web?

When you upload, the copy of the project is yours. Others can view and comment on it, but you own it. For now, you still use CaseComplete to make changes to your requirements. You can then republish and we'll let you see a full history of all the changes. And soon you'll also be able to create a polls to let your stakeholders rank your requirements.

Thanks! What I am needing is the ability for others to contribute to the project. We have vendors working with us on requirements that do not have access to our shared file server. We use SharePoint, but I have not been able to map the document library to a network drive that can be used in Case Complete. Any ideas?

We're not quite there (yet). Right now, Requirements.cc is a place to publish, sync, and get feedback on your projects. Are your vendors looking at your Word/Excel documents or are they looking at your requirements in CaseComplete?

They will have licensed copies of CC. I like that I can use Requirements.cc for sharing information with stakeholders, but our vendors will be responsibility for contributing to the requirements. That is why we will be providing licenses for CC, so that they follow our standards.

We're evaluating CC as a potential enterprise requirements tool (some of us have already used it in other lives and loved it). We would also love to be able to use CC with Sharepoint as we have a similar situation (multiple locations, multiple analysts, multiple countries). Sharepoint integration would be a huge win as this would allow requirements analysts to work offline (on their local CC instance during meetings etc.) and then get online to resynch with the central repository.

While it's technically possible to use SharePoint for a repository, we strongly advise against it. It just doesn't work that well. CaseComplete has no integration with SharePoint, so when multiple people work on the same project, it's possible to overwrite each other's changes, which obviously leads to problems.

Instead we recommend using the version control that comes with CaseComplete - or a supported third-party system that we integrate with. There are both paid and free options out there, so you can have an off-site server somewhere that everyone can access. The first response above has a link to some of the third-party systems that we can use.

Another thing to think about - some customers use CaseComplete's (or an integrated) version control system for their CaseComplete project files, and then store their generated reports in SharePoint. Would that be a possibility for your team?
